FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Frequently Asked Questions

How long will it take to create my personalised jewellery order?

I try to make sure that 95% of my orders are shipped within 24 (business) hours after being purchased. The other 5% are shipped within 48 hours. If, for some reason, an item is not in stock, you will be emailed within 18 hours (but usually less), to let you know and offer you alternatives, or the option of waiting, or obtaining a refund.

Will the jewellery tarnish?

All silver tarnishes over time, and for this reason, you must keep your unworn jewellery in a dry place such as an anti-tarnish bag or cloth, or in a zip lock bag. Keep it away from chlorine, and certainly don't wear your bracelets whilst washing the dishes!

All hand-stamped jewellery and custom bracelets are polished before shipping, and are shipped with a FREE jewellery polishing cloth and care card. Any brass or copper components on hand-stamped jewellery are affected by the ph levels of the wearer and may need regular polishing.

Can I return the item if I change my mind?

No, all items that are personalised with names and dates are not refundable or returnable. However if there is an error on my part, please let me know and I will organise for a replacement.

What if my bracelet doesn’t fit?

If your bracelet doesn’t fit, you can send it back within 30 days to have it resized free of charge.

What if I grow out of my bracelet?

All girls bracelets come with an extension chain which will help the bracelet stay wearable for many years. Should your child grow out of their bracelet, Gifted Memories offers a full bracelet resizing service for a small fee.

What does 'silver-filled' mean?

A thick layer of .925 Sterling Silver is mechanically bonded to a brass core comprised of copper and zinc. Silver-Filled is 1/10 or 10% by silver weight. Silver-filled is hundreds of times thicker, more durable and more
valuable than Silver Plated and has the same properties as Sterling Silver. Silver Filled can be soldered just as
Sterling can and is an economical alternative to Sterling Silver. It needs to be polished in the same way as sterling silver to avoid tarnishing.

How is my order shipped?

Your order is shipped using Australia Post ‘eParcel’, either by standard shipping, or Express eParcel if you choose express shipping.

Your jewellery is all insured during shipping, so if your item does not arrive within the specified time frame on my ‘postage’ page, please be sure to contact me so that we can lodge an enquiry with Australia Post.

All items are packed securely, and your signature will be required upon delivery.

What are the differences in metal gauges in your hand-stamped jewellery?

A gauge is a measurement of how thick a material is. In hand stamped jewellery there are 4 different gauges that I use.

24 gauge - the cheapest gauge due to the thinner material used. Using 24 gauge can sometimes mean the imprint of the stamp coming through slightly on the other side.
22 gauge - thicker and mostly will not show the imprint on the other side of the metal.
20 gauge - a perfect thickness for jewellery. Will not show an imprint on the other side and is not as pliable as other gauge thicknesses.
18 gauge - mostly used by me for copper and brass fixtures on hand-stamped jewellery.

For premium quality where possible, choose the 20 gauge.

Can my purchase be shipped to someone else with a card and gift wrapping?

Yes – there is an option for that when going through checkout. If your purchase is being shipped to an alternate address, no invoice will be included with the parcel. You will also be sent an email with tracking details so that you know when it arrives for peace of mind.

Do you ship overseas?

Due to some countries import restrictions, it can sometimes be difficult to send items overseas. Please send me an email if you wish to purchase an item and have it shipped to another country. Shipping fee's are variable but generally under $12 for an uninsured bracelet sent overseas.

How about jewellery for babies?

These bracelets are a keepsake that are not intended for every day wear. Care needs to be taken around children under 3 as these bracelets have beads that are small and whilst these bracelets are created with the highest quality jewellery wire with a high breaking strain, hyper cement and soldering, chewing on them and rough play could damage the bracelet to an extent where it may break. Gifted Memories Jewellery recommends young children under 3 years of age be supervised whilst wearing these bracelets to avoid any occurrences of breakages. Any breakages are fully covered by Gifted Memories Jewellery workmanship warranty, but Gifted Memories Jewellery does not take any responsibility for injuries that may occur from an item that has been broken by rough play, chewing on them, or pulling bracelets over wrists without undoing the clasps.

Is there a Guarantee?

As the 49-strand stainless steel bracelet wire used by Gifted Memories is so strong, it is very highly unlikely for a bracelet to break during normal day-to-day use. However, if a bracelet created by Gifted Memories does happen to break, please return it for a full replacement service.

Do you have a Facebook page?

Absolutely. You will find it here. On my Facebook page you will find specials, competitions and new release items.

I would like to phone you. Where can I find your phone number?

Gifted Memories Jewellery has very few employee's...namely just me. I don't advertise my phone number as I found that I spent half my time answering phone calls and my dispatch times blew out to three days. If I don't take phone calls, I can get orders out generally in 1 business day. Answering phone calls would mean employing more people, and my prices would need to go up. It is for this reason that I don't advertise my phone number. But please feel free to send me an email...I answer those within a few hours (generally in the evening). jane@giftedmemoriesjewellery.com.au
